Piqua Civic Band presents “The Wonder of the Holidays” Concert
The Piqua Civic Band will celebrate the Holiday Season with a concert titled “The Wonder of the Holidays” at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday December 4, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Piqua, Ohio. The band and its director, Mr. Brett Poling, welcome Dr. David Sievers from The University of Dayton as their guest vocalist for the afternoon. Admission is free and all are welcome!
Dr. Sievers will perform “O Holy Night” and help to lead the annual Christmas Sing-along. Other selections will include Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, Ancient and Honorable Artillery March, The Wonder of Christmas, Secret Agent Santa, All I Want for Christmas is You, and more!
The concert begins at 3:00 p.m. and admission is FREE. This performance of The Piqua Civic Band is generously being sponsored by The Miami County Foundation and Westminster Presbyterian Church.

In Memoriam- Tim Elliot (1948-2016)
Timothy Rex Elliott, age 68, of West Milton , passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016. He was born May 14, 1948 to the late Dennis R. and Margaret (Peterseim) Elliott in Dayton , Ohio. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Brinkman, sister, JoAnne (Jerry) Tucker, and nephew, Mike Tucker.
He will be missed and remembered by his son, Justin (Heidi) Elliott; stepdaughter, Heather (David) Sherman; stepchildren, Carol (Jeff) Wiles, Eric Brinkman, Julie Brinkman, and Scott (Kelly) Brinkman; grandchildren, Zachary, Josh, Ashley, Xavier, Kelsey, Elijah, Noelle, and Lily; nephew Marty (Debbie) Tucker and great nieces, Taylor and Taryn.
Tim was a band director and music teacher for Englewood Civic Band and taught music at The BRD house in Englewood. He loved searching and learning about the heritage of the Elliott Family and loved music, golfing and watching rugby.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St., West Milton , with a funeral service following at noon. Burial will follow in Harris Creek Cemetery , Bradford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Englewood Civic Band, Civic Band, 4515 S. St. Rt. 202, Tipp City, Ohio , 45371.
