Jean Ann Smith (1947-2017)
Jean Ann Smith, 69, of Tipp City, OH, peacefully passed away on Saturday (January 7, 2017) after her courageous battle with cancer (Multiple Myeloma). She was the beloved wife of Charles D. Smith, whom she married on August 10, 1969. Jean Ann was born in Wilmington, OH on December 4, 1947 to parents Jeanette (Bauer) Price and Charles E. Price. Jean Ann was a 1965 graduate of Wilmington High School and a proud 1969 graduate of the University of Cincinnati. Following graduation Jean Ann worked as a school teacher until she turned her attention to starting a family in 1977. Jean Ann was an incredible person, wife, mother and grandmother and spent much of her time with her children and grandchildren. Other than her family, Jean Ann’s passion was music. She shared this gift through membership of the Tipp City Community Band, Piqua Civic Band, and Sidney Civic Band and through managing her own beloved swing band, One More Time. Besides her husband, Charlie, Jean Ann is survived by her children, Amy (Alex) Sablan and Marty (Kara) Smith. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Claudia Jean Smith (11) and Charles Thomas Smith (8). She is also survived by her three siblings Judy (Dick) Inwood, Charlene (Charles) Buster and David (Nancy) Price. She is preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Michael Price. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 10th at the Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home in Tipp City, OH from 5-8pm and Wednesday morning half hour prior to the service. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 11th at 10:00am, also at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City, OH.
